Static basic load rating of antifriction bearing rod ends and spherical plain bearings

The static basic load rating Co of an antifriction bearing rod end and spherical plain bearing corresponds to that of a static radial load causing a permanent overall deformation of 1/10,000 of the rolling body diameter at the most highly stressed contact point between rolling body and raceway

Dynamic basic load rating of antifriction bearing rod ends and spherical plain bearings

The dynamic basic load rating C of an antifriction bearing rod end and spherical plain bearing is the external radial load, constant in size and direction, at which 90% of a large quantity of obviously identical rod ends will reach or exceed 1 million rotations or swivelling movements.

Static basic load rating of plain bearing rod ends

The static basic load rating Co of a plain bearing rod end corresponds to the static radial load that does not yet cause permanent deformation at the weakest housing cross section. It includes a safety factor of at least 1.2 compared to the yield stress of the material used for the rod end housing.

Dynamic basic load rating of plain bearing rod ends

The dynamic basic load rating C is a variable applied in estimating the expected operating life of dynamically stressed, maintenance-free plain bearing rod ends.

Static basic load rating for plain bearing rod ends and spherical plain bearings

The maximum permitted load of a rod end or spherical plain bearing is specified by the static load rating Co that is indicated in the catalogue. The static load rating Co corresponds to the static radial load at standstill that does not yet cause permanent deformation at the weakest housing cross section of a rod end or spherical plain bearing at room temperature.

In all cases the user must compare the theoretical parameters used in the selection with the specific installation conditions and check the suitability of the rod end or spherical plain bearing in practice. The user must define appropriate safety factors and maintenance intervals for the specific application. Whenever the load is determined or estimated to be at the upper limit of the load rating for the specific application, DURBAL Metallwarenfabrik GmbH recommends switching to heavy-duty rod ends or heavy-duty spherical plain bearings from our DURBAL Premium Line or Classic Line product range.
