Nadella lock nuts

Nadella locking nuts are used wherever there is a need for precision locking of a mechanism or a sturdy and rigid shoulder, as happens in the assembly of rolling bearings. Nadella nuts can be easily assembled and disassembled and reused without any loss of precision characteristics, they can be used in difficult conditions and are distinguished by the type of locking they offer. A portion of the threaded section of the nuts forms the locking tab.

The locking is then carried out by means of the locking dowels, which push the threaded surface of the tab against the corresponding thread of the shaft with a high load.

The LR, LRE and LRP radial lock nuts are used wherever there is space to radially insert the locking key, whose screwing of the dowel discharges radially on the flexible tongue. The development of the surface of the tongue threads allows to obtain a very strong locking, which is doubled in the LRE version with two opposing tangs and further increased in the case of the LRP wide series ring nut. The support face of these ring nuts, perpendicular to the thread, allows the adjustment and locking of bearings and mechanical elements that require tight positioning tolerances.

The LF and LFE front locking nuts are used instead when the overall dimensions make radial locking impossible, and are therefore particularly useful for locking pieces inside seats or deep boring. The axial thrust determined by the screwing of the frontal grains is returned to 90 ° by means of wedges, while the resulting radial force is discharged on the flexible tongue. The tightening effect applied to the development of the surface of the tongue threads allows for a secure locking, which also in this case is doubled in the case of the two-tongue LFE variant. In addition to the slots, there are 4 holes on the rear face of the ring nut to house pins for positioning the ring nut.

Finally, the axial locking LX nuts take up the same principles as the LF nut, but applying them to the bores thus allowing the locking of components inside housings.
