Nadella needle and thrust bearings

Nadella needle and thrust bearings are one of the main elements used in the rotating motion technique, and are used when high load capacity, precision and small overall dimensions are required.

In the case of loads acting in the axial direction, roller or needle thrust bearings are used and Nadella provides a manageable and easy-to-use solution.

Thrust bearings are generally made up of three independent pieces: a cage, which holds the rolling elements, a fifth wheel and a counter-back that make up the sliding tracks; Nadella thrust bearings, on the other hand, are made from a single piece, thus offering the plus of simplified management.

The rolling elements, typically rollers (AR series) or rollers (AX series), are held and guided by the alveoli of the steel cage in which they are arranged in a radial pattern; the cage and the fifth wheel are assembled in a single piece by means of a shaped ring, ensuring manageability and easy centering in the seat.

The thrust bearing washer are one of the rolling element raceways; the opposite raceway is generally constituted by a separate counter-face, having the same characteristics and supplied by Nadella, or it can be constituted by an external shoulder with adequate geometry and rigidity. In the ARZ and AXZ thrust bearings also the shoulder counter is held by a circumferential shaped metal ring which also constitutes an effective protection against the introduction of impurities and metal particles, simultaneously favoring the retention of the lubricant.

The Nadella thrust supports are also found inside the combined RAX type bearings, which simultaneously support radial and axial loads with high compactness and practicality, all assembled in a single piece by a common outer casing.
