Circular Systems in the Multi-Motion-Line
Nadella offers various circular rails based on its FS profiles family, which can be used in in different ways: as an entire circumference, in single sectors, or joined together with straight pieces of rail to obtain oval or ring circuits.
Our rails are steel, induction hardened on the raceways and with the same section dimensions as straight FS ... M rails, which are joined together in the circuits with alignment blocks which allow a precise mounting. These pieces are by standard appropriately marked in order to prevent mistakes during joining. We suggest nickel plating (option NW) for both straight and circular pieces as corrosion protection. For a stainless steel (NX option) version, please contact us. Additionally, it’s possible to design and arrange rings with different sections or radii in order to meet specific demands.
GUIDE ROLLERS
All our FS family guide rollers can be used in combination with the circular rails.
CARRIAGES
With guide rollers in fixed position or mounted on steering arms, carriages for circular rails can be implemented.
CARRIAGES WITH GUIDE ROLLERS IN FIXED POSITIONS
The distance between the centers of the guide rollers of a carriage with fixed guide rollers can be determined in order to obtain clearance-free running on the straight as well as on the circular stretch of a circuit. The emerging carriage - usually a simple table with four holes for housing of the guide rollers - will be compact and simple. However, there are a few restrictions:
- A clearance between the carriage and the rail in the passage from the straight stretch to the circular one (and vice versa) is expected, when two guide rollers are engaged on the straight portion and two on the circular one. The extent of the clearance depends on the dimensions of the rail and of the roller guides as well as of the carriage determine the extent of the clearance. Due to it, an accurate positioning of the carriage during the passage between straight and circular part is not possible. Therefore, there will be vibration, noise and overload of the roller guides in fast applications.
- The version of the carriages with fixed guide rollers, can be used only for one specific radius throughout the circuit. Different radii on the circular segment are not possible.
To determine the holes for the rollers, please contact our technical department.
STEERING CARRIAGES
The restrictions for carriages with fixed roller positions are eliminated by using the steering carriage. These guide rollers are mounted in pairs on steering arms, which can rotate freely and thus move at an angle to the rail at any point along the circular path. Transition play does not occur at any point of the circuit, improving transition area accuracy and reduce running noise. The Studs of the steering carriage are mounted with needle bearings and sealed for protection and lubricant retention.
The stud is tightened by the full tightening of the nut, and guarantees the best locking.
